Ira is Tor's closest companion on the Islands, especially considering the two
are bondmates. Ira is very sociable, much like his companion has become. Charming yet firm, he keeps Tor under
control and something close to grounded. Forever the mediator between Tor's
flighty tendencies and those of the world around them, Ira much prefers rational
thoughts than the predictions of his Seer bondmate.
Open-minded and very much in love with society, Ira loves the cities and the
diversity offered there. He hopes that the other inhabitants of Dendrinla will
found a large, bustling port so that he can be near the action and excitement of
a town, rather than secluded and locked away from people, places, and things.
Amusingly, Ira is far more the social whore than Tor will ever be, though he
definitely lacks the charm and charisma his bondmate has once he finds himself
in a familiar situation.
Fierce loyalty and irony lies behind Ira's very calm, very subtle appearance. Not at
all nearly so flashy or extraordinary as some of his siblings, Ira is very glad of that. He prefers to be less-noticed so that
he can easily be the watcher of all proceedings. He prefers to stay ignored
until he deems it his place to be noticed, exception granted to when Tor is
being far too caught up in his divinations to notice Ira's needs.
As a blue, Ira is supposed to hold innate healing abilities, though he either
lacks or doesn't care to express them. Like both his parents, he is an arboreal
variation, hence the large, graceful wings. Like his mother, Gunnhild, Ira
possesses huge black back spines, though his are thin and strong, as well as
spaced so conveniently that he may easily use them as knives should the need
arise.
Above is the Trumpet Piece, Ira's shantel gift. It allows him to produce a
breath weapon called Serene Song, which causes anyone in the area into a deep
sleep. Later, when he gets good at using it, Ira will be able to produce high,
deafening bursts of sound with the trumpet. Very grateful, Ira wears the Trumpet
Piece almost constantly, and he is very proud of it.
This is Ira's gift from his mate, Kipfel. It is a music box
the black found that plays the melody of Für Elise. The lid doubles as a mirror,
and the box is divided between a glass-enclosed musical device and a pocket to
hold small things in. Ira is very fond of his mate and the music box.
The first Christmas at the Realm had come when Ira was just barely hatched, so the Realm gave him this very soft blanket. Having outgrown much use for it, Ira intends to give it to one of his children for comfort and warmth.
